Shipping vehicles to South Sudan:
There are two ways to send your vehicle to South Sudan. One is to use a 20-foot or 40 -foot Ocean Container and the container will be put on Container Vessel (ship). Another way is use to Car Carrier Roll on and Roll Off (RORO vessel or ship).
Most of our vehicle destinations end in Mombasa. However, a special arrangement can be made to transport your vehicle to South Sudan at a small extra cost.
We offer both Containerized service to South Sudan & RORO services to meet your needs. RORO services don't allow you to put any other cargo inside the vehicle or in the trunk of the vehicle when you ship it on a Ro/Ro vessel. Kenya-Link will not be responsible cargo left inside vehicles on board as it tempts thieves to break in. We, therefore, encourage you to use our special Services that provide security both to your vehicle and your personal property in your car. For non-motorized vehicles, such as boats on trailers, they can be towed on and off the ship. These ships have special decks that are enclosed and are much the same as a regular multi-storey parking garage, except in this case they are the length and width of the ship and are a little like aircraft carriers decks. Destination port charges are never included in the quotation for such vehicles unless you specifically requested for the services.
SHIPPING CARS FOR RESALE:
If you are shipping the vehicle for ultimate resale to a known customer you should have already come to an agreement with your overseas customer about the price of the vehicle and who pays the cost of shipping and insurance. All vehicles and goods are required to be shipped on a PREPAID basis. You should add the cost of shipping and insurance of the vehicle to your selling price and inform your customer well in advance. Failure to clarify this to the customer in good time can cause misunderstandings and arguments at a later stage. What has been agreed should be documented to protect all parties in the transaction.
ITEMS THAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT FOR SHIPMENT:
CURRENCY, MONEY ORDERS, CHECKS, FIREARMS, AMMUNITION, RELOADERS, EXPLOSIVES, DRUGS AND OTHER PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES, PORNOGRAPHIC, MATERIALS and PERISHABLES
