We have been notified that Ken Maina of Arlington Dallas (+1817-649-8700 / +1817-532-2887) has been picking goods from KenyaLink Shipping company and payments are made to his name contrary to the KenyaLink company procedure and he does not remit the same amount to the company and then goes ahead and lie to the customer that the goods have been shipped and they can pick them from our warehouse in Nairobi. If you have fallen in the same con trick please contact Kimathi in Kenya 0733797632 or email kimathi@kenyalinkshipping.com
NOTICE – SHIPMENT DELAY 10/18/2010
We wish to inform all our esteemed customers that the shipment of your goods has been delayed due the persistent new customs regulation issues at Mombasa, Kenya.
Kenyan customs have introduced 100% verification as new guidelines and it’s causing long delay and huge costs. What this mean is that once your box reaches Mombasa, the customs officers who are required by law are now opening each individual box and itemizing goods for custom duty purpose. Our staffs have to be present for each and every box that is opened to ensure that your goods are safe.
What does this mean to you?
· We at KenyaLink shipping have no information of all goods that you have packed in the box. We trust what you say is in the box. Example, used clothes and shoes.
· When customs opens your box and they find items other than what you indicated, they charge additional duty.
· Though your goods are supervised during the opening by customs officers, they are delivered to your recipient as opened boxes. Both your recipient and we do not know what exactly was in the box. This is very important to us as a business that is committed to reliability, integrity and trustworthy. You too should be worried when you are told the box (es) was opened.
· The costs at the Mombasa has increased due to added duty and operations that we are now placing more personnel to supervise over 500 boxes being opened. This is causing undue delay and demurrage (cost we have to pay at the port for over 7 days delay). We are paying $200 per day per container.
Solution
Kimathi, the principle owner, is also in Mombasa discussing options that will make sure that your box is not opened at Mombasa when it arrives. He is also discussing all related costs that is involved.
Kimathi, had several meeting will customs officials last week, but could not get the meeting with KRA Superintendent at Mombasa for final agreement. The meeting was scheduled for this week. This has caused a delay in his returning to USA which was planned early this month.
We are confident that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible to return to normal shipping schedule.
Kimathi, will possibly be returning to USA before month end to advise to next shipping.
Your Goods are safe in our warehouse awaiting shipment. You will not be charged additional money. Lest be assured that your goods will be safely shipped.
On behalf of myself and the management of Kenyalink shipping, I would like to apologize for this delay which was beyond our control and we ask for your understanding and patience as we resolve the custom issues at Mombasa, comply with New Kenyan customs regulations.
Thank you for the trust that you gave me and choosing KenyaLink shipping for shipping and I will always be truthful in all matters related to shipping information.
